Between 7th and 11th of February 2022 – Akademija Rudi Hiti organised 5 days long dissemination event at the outdoor ice rink in Bohinj in cooperation with Kindergarten Bohinj ( Pre-school class Bohinj). During the pandemics indoor sport activities in Slovenia were not allowed so we moved our activities to the outdoor ice surface in the village Bohinj in Slovenia. Kindergarten Bohinj is very much unique in the area since kids with special needs and kids that has no such problems are attending to the same class. For the first time, we join them also on the ice, to promote social inclusion and activities on ice. Our Free Time Service offers the possibility of practicing rugby in the inclusive team that has been set up by the Bilbao Rugby University club in collaboration with our association and other entities, and which participates together with three other clubs in the Basque Inclusive Rugby League.

Training takes place on Fridays, from six to seven fifteen in the afternoon, at the Rekalde Sports Center (Bilbao), and the matches are played on six Saturdays, from November to May. And, of course, after each match, the traditional ‘third half’ takes place, a joint hamaiketako between the two teams.

And it is that rugby, although sometimes it sounds like a rough sport, is a different sporting experience, which has more to do with values such as camaraderie and coexistence.

Elisa graduates!!! her thesis: “Spot Sportily Together: integrated sport for a social future-the constructive relationship between sport and disability” is the result of the research project born within the spot project.

Thanks to her participation in the Local Observatory of Integrated and Inclusive Sport, she is resulted in a research questionnaire consisting of 15 questions sent to two local schools. Search tool enabled students to express their opinions and thoughts on how they perceive sport.

The questionnaire and the data were made available to the Observatory team and the researcher of the University of Urbino Angela Genova.

The results of the questionnaires were processed in such a way as to show a picture of the territorial situation and the problems that emerged.

This experience allowed the students to reflect on the issue proposal and moreover, it was an opportunity for comparison and debate in the various moments of sharing the project.

Only through a thorough awareness of local needs is possible to implement effective interventions capable of making concrete contributions improvements in community life.

The Euskadi team made up of members of the four inclusive Rugby teams (UBR, Gaztedi RT, Hernani C.R.E and Getxo RT), took part this Saturday in the day of the “inclusive rugby state plan”, whose purpose is the development of this modality in Spain at its maximum power in collaboration with specialized institutions and entities, regional federations and clubs.

Operators from the world of sport and the third sector divided into 5 tables met to discuss and respond to new emerging needs. In particular, the need on the part of the sports world to acquire skills on disability but on the other hand also to understand what social operators expect from them. the participants do not know each other and therefore we sought, through the world café, an initial moment of knowledge to get in tune by sharing something personal as well. the tables address these issues:

Dream: If I told you: «inclusive sport», what do you imagine for the future?

Think: Are you a person with a disability or a person with special needs? What are these needs?

Observe : Where are you now, what is missing, what barriers, obstacles, limits do you see for sport to be inclusive? How to overcome them?

Tells: I’m grateful to sport, why?

In collaborazione con la Canottieri Montefeltro di Sassocorvaro Auditore si è organizzato un Open Day dell’offerta sportiva integrata e inclusiva che si può fare con gli sport all’aria aperta. Si è organizzato un Open Day di 2 giorni nel mese di ottobre 2021 dove hanno partecipato circa 20 ragazzi accompagnati dai genitori. Attività organizzata nella zona esterna antistante la palestra dell’Istituto Omnicomprensivo Montefeltro.
